Brazil aims to be the next property hotspot

Property developers are jumping at the opportunity to stake a claim in Brazil in what is rumoured to be one of the next big overseas property markets along with India and China.

Brazil aims to be the next property hotspot

Elections in Brazil are set for October this year, and the economy is steadily gaining momentum. It already enjoys a world renowned Latin fiesta spirit, amazing scenery and a tropical climate. Now important social issues like the favelas, or ghettos, are being dealt with and Brazil is really beginning to make its presence felt around the world. While it's still very much an unknown destination for Brits, who are currently reaping the benefits of low-cost airlines in Europe, most experts agree the South American country will be a top investment area once the European property market has levelled off. So keen are developers not to miss out on the coming Brazillian boom, that 'ready to roll' land plots are becoming available with ready made planning permission.

Steven Glazer, Managing Director of Port of the Sun, a company selling land in Brazil for around £1.9 million, says, "There is still time for developers who would like to get here before the rest of the herd".

With agents like AGS Properties selling luxury apartments for the relatively cheap price of £50,000, estate agents and property developers are watching closely to see if ready made land plots will lower prices further.
