Canada offers golf properties

Brits that look across the Atlantic to purchase properties in golf developments tend to focus on Florida, but perhaps golf fans should look further north in search of their dream home.

Canada offers golf properties

Islands Blue, UK property agent for Timberland Golf Resort, has announced the launch of the second phase of the resort's development currently under construction in the beautiful and unspoilt Humber Valley, Newfoundland, Canada.

Timberland Golf Resort will consist of 337 homes nestled in and around an 18-hole championship golf course overlooking Deer Lake in the Humber Valley region. Lots at Timberland Golf Resort start from Canadian CDN$100,000 (approx £49,000) with a range of custom-built homes from CDN$150,000.

While house prices in Canada are still on the rise, on average Newfoundland and Labrador has one of the slower moving property markets in the country. The average house price actually fell from last year by 1.2 per cent. The average property price in Newfoundland and Labrador is now CDN$133,541, well below Canada's national average of CDN$303,836 (up 12.9 per cent over May 2005).

However, even within fairly static markets there are always pockets of price growth, and Timberland Golf Resort is almost certain to buck the trend for property prices in the eastern corner of Canada.
