Cyprus real estate agency ERA will provide customers who buy a property in Cyprus through them with an advantage card, which offers reduced rates on certain goods  and services bought on the island.

The card lets buyers purchase white goods, furniture, and electrical appliances. The company has also extended the goods that can be bought to exterior furniture such as awnings and sun beds.

The agency says that they are introducing the advantage card to combat the "tired, hackneyed model in real estate". They explain that," ERA Cyprus is developing new ideas and initiatives to take care of clients who choose to purchase property using ERA through its 14 offices in Southern Cyprus , with the advantage card being just one idea."

They are rolling out phase two this year, whereby there will be further discounted goods available to buyers. The advantage card expires after two years, as the company say the property owners will have had sufficient time to furnish their off-plan homes in Cyprus.

Cyprus is looking to boost its tourist industry at the moment, and is doing this buy aiming to introduce more direct flights to the country. Ryanair and Easyjet are the two airlines looking to bring in these direct flights from the UK and they say they should hopefully be flying direct to Cyprus by 2009.

More incentives are due to be brought in later this year and will include more goods and services that are eligible for discount with Cyprus property owners with the advantage card.
