New property awards set to promote professionalism

One of the international property industry's biggest independent associations has just announced its plans to launch an awards programme to help promote and reward professionalism in the property industry.

New property awards set to promote professionalism

The Association of International Property Professionals (AIPP) industry awards programme has a total of 11 categories for its agent and developer members. which will submit their own entries. The categories are: Best Small Agent; Best Medium Agent; Best Large Agent; Best Developer; Best Developer; Best Developer; Best Developer; Best Developer; Best Marketing Campaign; Best Staff Training; and Most Outstanding Example of Customer Service.

The AIPP Awards 2008 will identify best practices and focus on the selling and business skills of agents and developers analysing key elements of customer service and due diligence. The association believes that the categories 'best staff training' and 'most transparent marketing' will be particularly useful to consumers.

"The awards are not looking at who is selling what property at what price but at the professionalism of agents and developers," AIPP's CEO Paul Owen commented. "Assessing their systems, skills and practices, each criterion will be marked and scored by judges made up of AIPP members (those not selling property and, therefore, not eligible for the awards) and a selection of respected outsiders."

All scores will be returned to each entrant, and Owen believes that "This will be invaluable feedback to our Members, effectively a 'customer service audit' on their company. In turn, this will help consumers by ensuring that a better, more professional service is offered to them."

The closing date for entries is Friday 20th June, and the awards ceremony will take place on Friday 3rd October 2008.
